I. Disclosure of Your Complaint. Public Record. Under most circumstances, your request for assistance and any documents submitted with your request will be considered a public record and available to any member of the public upon request. In response to such a request, we generally will not disclose your name, address, phone number, or any other information that identifies you and will not disclose this form in response to any request that specifically seeks the request for assistance you submitted.
Disclosure to the Mortgage Servicer and Other Related Entities. In order to resolve your request for assistance we may release any and all information with regard to this request, including the form itself, to the Mortgage Servicer you are contacting us about and/or the Mortgagee or the Creditor (as that term is defined in Massachusetts General Laws chapter 244, sections 35A and 35B).
Disclosure to Other Entities. Your request for assistance and any related information may be disclosed in its entirety to other law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
HomeCorps Referrals: The Attorney General's Office may conclude that you may benefit from a referral to (1) a Legal Services Attorney and/or (2) a provider of housing or other stabilization services, available at no cost through the HomeCorps Borrower Representation Initiative and/or Borrower Recovery Initiative. To facilitate a possible referral, the AGO may share with entities affiliated with the Borrower Representation Initiative or the Borrower Recovery Initiative, any and all information you provide to the Office in relation to your HomeCorps request for assistance, including information of a personal or confidential nature.
II. Consulting With a Private Attorney. The AGO cannot give you legal advice and is not able to be your private attorney, but represents the public interest. If you have any questions concerning your individual legal rights or responsibilities you should contact a private attorney.
